At Peak School, we foster student voice.
We allow students to participate in meaningful dialogues, share their viewpoints, and help improve our school community.
We have 12 House Captains appointed each year. Members of each of our Houses, Cameron, Kellett, Nicholson and Victoria vote for their House Captains from Year 5 and Year 6. The House Captains represent the student body in School Council meetings, collaborate with outside agencies, raise funds for charities and the school, organise extra curricular clubs, and are official MC’s for our school assemblies. They serve as role models for their peers and inspire them to take action.
In addition to the House Captains, we have a number of other equally exciting leadership opportunities for students across the school:
- Our Peak School Planet Savers lead our Environment and Sustainability initiatives.
- Student ambassadors lead our school tours for prospective families. They are knowledgeable about all aspects of the school and address parent inquiries during the tours.
- The Library Monitors and Shed Monitors take responsibility for organising the books in the library and the play equipment in the PE shed respectively. They are a big support to our teaching teams.
- The Yearbook Design Group makes important decisions on what we document and highlight in our yearbook each year.
- Each class also has Laptop Monitors who ensure that our devices are handled and stored properly. They also liaise with our ICT team, reporting any damages or IT related issues.
