Speakers & Visitors

Peak School has welcomed an impressive array of speakers and visitors who have enriched our students' learning experiences. Daniel Ole Sambu, a Maasai Warrior, James Mwenda, the caregiver of the last male northern white rhino Sudan, and a representative from the African Wildlife Foundation shared powerful insights about wildlife conservation and African culture. The organization Plastic Free Seas spoke to our students about sustainability and ocean conservation.

Throughout the 2023-24 school year, we've hosted several accomplished authors. Aniela Emma Chaudhuri visited in January 2024, engaging with students across all year levels. Children's author Matt Glover worked with both staff and students, sharing his expertise in writing. Poet Mark Grist brought creativity to life in our classrooms, while local authors Martha Keswick, Natalie Lam, and Gail Clarke made multiple visits to work with different year groups.

Our school community has also benefited from educational specialists and experts in various fields. Mr. Loggie, Principal of Island School, presented an informative session about educational innovation. These diverse speakers and visitors have helped broaden our students' perspectives and inspire their learning journey at Peak School.

Our commitment to experiential learning extends beyond classroom visits. Students have participated in hands-on learning experiences with scientists during visits to the Science Museum and Island School's science facilities. These educational excursions provide valuable opportunities for our students to engage with real-world applications of their studies. The school also regularly welcomes health professionals who support our community's well-being through various health initiatives and vaccination programs.

We take pride in our arts and cultural programs, which bring diverse perspectives into our school community. Through our special events like the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations and Book Week, we invite cultural experts and performers who help our students understand and appreciate different traditions and customs. Many of our visitors work closely with students in small groups or workshops, ensuring meaningful interactions and lasting impact on our learners' development.
