Throughout the year, we offer various workshops for parents covering essential topics like reading, writing, mathematics, student wellbeing, Chinese language, diversity and inclusion, environmental sustainability, and relationships education. These workshops help parents understand how we teach and learn at Peak School. By participating in these sessions, parents gain valuable insights into our teaching methods and learn strategies to support their children's learning journey at home.
Communication between home and school happens in many ways. We start the year with "You Tell Us" meetings, followed by regular parent-teacher consultations. Students take an active role in sharing their learning through three-way conferences and student-led conferences. Our teachers maintain an open-door policy and are always happy to chat with parents when needed.
Our Building Our Community series is a special program where teachers, students, and parents share their talents and interests through workshops. New families receive a warm welcome when they join our school, and parents can get involved by becoming class representatives or joining the PTA. The PTA organizes exciting events throughout the year, including Bingo nights, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, and our popular Danceathon.
Parents are welcome to volunteer in many ways at Peak School. They help in our library, tend to our school garden, assist in classrooms, and join us on field trips. We celebrate cultural events throughout the year and invite parents to attend class assemblies, learning journey presentations, and environmental projects. This strong partnership between home and school helps create an environment where everyone feels welcome and supported in their learning journey.
We believe that a strong school community is built on the foundation of active parent participation and open communication. Our School Council includes parent representatives who contribute to important decisions about our school's development. Through our sustainability initiatives, parents help maintain our school garden and participate in environmental projects, teaching our students the importance of environmental stewardship. The success of our parent partnership program is reflected in the vibrant, inclusive atmosphere at Peak School, where students benefit from seeing their parents actively engaged in their educational experience.
The involvement of our parent community extends beyond the classroom walls and creates meaningful connections that enrich our entire school community. Whether it's sharing professional expertise as guest speakers, contributing to cultural celebrations, or supporting our various learning initiatives, parents play a vital role in making Peak School a dynamic and nurturing learning environment. This collaborative approach to education helps our students develop a deeper understanding of community, responsibility, and the joy of lifelong learning.
