School History

Age range: 5 to 11
Number of students: 360
Curriculum: IB Primary Years Programme

The Peak School has a long and proud tradition of service to the local community. From humble beginnings in 1911, when five to six children were taught in the living room of a house on the Peak, the school grew rapidly and soon occupied a suite of rooms in the old Peak Hotel.

Sometime later the school moved to what is now the Peak Fire Station, a building used latterly as an annex known as "Little Peak" until it became The Peak Fire Station in 1966.

In 1954, the ‘new‘ Peak School was built on the former site of the Peak Club on Plunkett’s Road.

Our Students represent over 20 different nationalities and speak a range of languages, with English being the most common.
